Sardinia, with its 1800 kilometers of coastline, and for its geographical position and history, is one of
the favourite holiday destinations for those who like watersports and for all those who like to spend their
holidays by the sea. This large mediterranean island, which is surrounded by one of the most beautiful and
crystal-clear seas that you can find anywhere in the world, is nowadays the preferred destination for a
more exclusive type of tourism, which chooses this area for the aura of mystery emanating from the land and
for the ancient customs of its people. The numerous stone-age tombs ("nuraghi") scattered about the island
are among the most important monuments left by the various cultures throughout the ages. Places such as
Alghero, Santa Teresa di Gallura, and Oristano have still preserved intact traces of all of the conquerors
throughout their history, who have also influenced the typical local cuisine, with a marriage of flavours
between the produce of the sea and the land with wonderful results. You can reach Sardinia either by sea or
by air, with international flights to the three main airports: Olbia, Cagliari, and Alghero, which are more
frequent from May to September.
